Frequently Asked Questions

What is Duty HQ?

Duty HQ is a community platform built for active duty military families. It brings together local base information, community groups called Circles, and an AI assistant called Liberty, so families can find answers and support wherever the military sends them. Our motto: it takes a village, so let us be yours.

Is Duty HQ free?

Yes. Duty HQ is free for military families, and it will stay free.

Which installations are live?

Duty HQ is currently live at NAS Lemoore in California, our pilot installation. We plan to add more bases as the pilot proves out.

Who can join, and how is military status verified?

Duty HQ is built for military families, and you join by creating a free account with your email. We do not currently verify military status. We plan to add verification in the future.

What are Circles?

Circles are community groups inside Duty HQ where families connect with others in the same situation. Right now, the live Circle at each installation is its Base Hub, a space for everyone connected to that base. More kinds of Circles, such as branch, military spouse, and PCS groups, are planned.

What is Liberty?

Liberty is Duty HQ's AI assistant for installation questions, such as housing, schools, medical care, pay, and base services. It is live at NAS Lemoore only. Liberty can be wrong, so confirm important details with official sources. When it cannot answer, it points you to the right Circle so the community can help.

How does license transfer help work?

Carry On is our upcoming tool for military spouses transferring a professional license after a PCS. The plan is to take a few details from you and pre-fill the required reimbursement form. It is not available yet, and you can join the waitlist to be notified at launch.

Is Duty HQ affiliated with the military or DoD?

No. Duty HQ is an independent company founded by a Navy spouse. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Department of Defense or any military branch.

Is it a website or an app?

Duty HQ is a progressive web app, so it works in your phone or computer browser and can be added to your home screen. A native app store version is in the works.
