The short version
We collect an email address, and optionally a few details about your professional license and duty stations, only when you choose to submit them. We use them to tell you when Carry On launches. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit our sites.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send you spam.
Who we are
Duty HQ, Inc. (“Duty HQ,” “we,” “us”) is a Delaware corporation building community tools for military families.
This policy covers our websites at dutyhq.com and carryon.dutyhq.com. It does not cover the Duty HQ application at app.dutyhq.com, which is governed separately.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you join the Carry On waitlist at carryon.dutyhq.com, you submit:
| What | Required | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Yes | So we can notify you when Carry On launches |
| Professional license type | No | So we know which licenses to support first |
| Current installation | No | So we know where our waitlist is stationed |
| Gaining installation | No | So we know which states to prioritize |
Nothing is collected until you press the button. There is no account and no login on either website.
If you email us at team@dutyhq.com — including installation requests — we receive whatever you write and your email address.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 on both websites. It collects your IP address (which Google truncates), your device and browser type, the site that referred you, the pages you view, and an approximate geographic location derived from your IP. This tells us how many people visit and which pages they read.
Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and requests.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment information on these websites. We do not use advertising or social media tracking pixels on dutyhq.com or carryon.dutyhq.com. We do not ask for, and do not want, information about your service member's assignment, unit, deployment schedule, or any other operationally sensitive detail.
How we use it
- To notify you when Carry On launches
- To decide which licenses, states, and installations to support first
- To understand how our sites are used, so we can improve them
- To respond when you contact us
- To comply with law
We will not use your waitlist submission to market unrelated products to you without asking first.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf:
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Your waitlist submission | Customer relationship management — our system of record |
| Google Analytics | Website usage data | Analytics |
| Netlify | Server log data | Website hosting |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition — in which case we will notify you.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and understand site usage. Our sites do not use advertising cookies.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Our sites work fine without them. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics: 14 months, then automatic deletion.
Waitlist submissions: until Carry On launches and we have notified you, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first. If Carry On does not launch, we will delete the waitlist.
Email: as long as reasonably needed to handle your request.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your information at any time. Email team@dutyhq.com and we will do it. You do not need to give a reason.
You can also ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Send you a copy
We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a California resident
California law gives you rights to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we never have.
To exercise any right, email team@dutyhq.com.
Children
Our websites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email team@dutyhq.com and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable service providers and limit access to submissions to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where your information is held
Our service providers process and store information in the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to notify people on our waitlist.
